I don't know what she used to cut it with I don't think it was scissors though she even told me it would feel a bit more blunt because she cut the tip i was sitting in the room when she did it I just couldn't see cause she was over at the counter and were i was sitting i couln't see how she cut it but i'm pretty sure i saw the tip come off

With over 30 years experience: It is not possible to 'cut the end' of a needle.....with anything....and have it still be functional. She had to have switched it to a new needle. If she was speaking about a needle being blunt...she was referring to the one that she first used (which would be a factory defect). Also Depo is a very thick solution. A hypodermic needle is hollow inside, obviously, so to cut the end would collapse the end and it would not allow flow. Also, just for kicks, take a needle you have at home and try to cut the end. If you even can accomplish it at all....try to stick it into anything....let alone skin. Sorry....it could not have been as it appeared.

Not a nurse, but a nurse' sister. NEVER ever let a nurse cut or break a needle then reinsert it. The danger there is that the manufacturer made the needle a certain length and sharpness. That nurse should have been reprimanded or worse. Needles are only made nowadays to be inserted ONCE, then to be discarded. As for the sickness or symptoms, probably not because of the needle.

Um she should have gotten a different needle, if she cut with ordinary pair of scissors, then you could have an infection in that spot. I would go to your doctor and tell her what happened, if you are sick. and if there is a problem, go from there. You should have reported this as soon as it happened... hope everything turns out for the best

She should have used another needle.
Not a nurse, but that doesn't sound too sanitary or healthy.
(Glad you are not on depo!)
