Don't know what kind of car you have, but we had a '78 Mercury Couger, for yrs, & for yrs it was our only car so when my husband cot home I would use it to get to my job. On the weekends it would would be used & used by one of us.
But if this is your problem...You need the car to go faster to get on the freeway...it would 'Bog' down..or say..'Do I have too?'. But it had many 'GOOD' things about it, ..it only broke down at home, it pulled our 16ft. 'Heavy' boat with ease, we used it untill it had close to 300 hund Thousand miles on it...think thats how you saw that?. It was my husband who decided not to fix the 'cooling system'. So 'Sissy car' as we called it cause of its 'slow start' when you needed it to speed up...well it now sits in my garage where I am rebuilding the engine, many people say to take it to 'Mexico' to be 'reapostered'?
At first I didn't like the car, but grew to love it, when we finally got another car, 'Sissy car' became my car, since I'am into 'Animal Rescue' ..'Sissy car' was great at going over 'mountian' roads, big enough to haull lumber, or fill it with cages of animals that I needed to get them away from fires or floods. So your Truck has a 'slow pick-up' look at all 'Sissy car' did for me & Animals that had to get away from a fire ..FAST!, even having to stop to 'pick-up' a 'Animal in the road way. I say keep the truck & find another car that will 'respond' when you 'Floor it'

what kind of car is it?
has it always done this?
How worn is the engine?
What size is the engine?
Are you having fuel problems?

You need to give more info than the car accelerates slow and I don't like it. What is wrong?
Go to a doctor and tell him that you sh*t smells and ask him what is wrong. Maybe its meant to just be like that.
