I think answer is c

If f(x) = g(x)
Then
x^3 = ax^3
and then
a = x^3/x^3 and that equals 1
a = 1
or
0

Absolutely, no conclusions can be made. As f(x) is not related to g(x), "a" may have any value.

If f(x) = g(x) "a" = 1
