Israel because they are fanatics with a large army

America or China - I would definitely say America. America's Military budget for 2007 is about $470 Billion, the next closest country in terms of spending is China with about $61 Billion dollars - actually USA's military budget is more then Russia, China, France, UK, Germany, India, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Isreal, Iran, Spain and Turkey combined. SO America by far has the advantage when it comes to equipment, technology and training - China has over a Billion people, whereas the USA only has around 300 million - so they have the advantage there but we would not fight a ground war with them, we would our bombs, planes, rockets etc - So America is by far the strongest country militarily, it is just a question of how the America media will let them use it

The USA has the largest GDP in the world, the largest production in the world, and I believe spends the greatest proportion of its income on the military, in the world. The people in the US military are perhaps the most educated in the world, and perhaps the most resourceful in the world. Any one of these things would make it a clear winner...anything else?
The only issue with the US is a lack of unity and loyalty and dedication to what they may perceive to be an ill-conceived purpose. If we are speaking of a life-or-death situation however, that issue would quickly vanish.

The US.

China's army is too big, it is foolish to have such huge armies in today's world, due to the spy satellites, tactical nukes and other hi tech weapon systems. Besides, they keep their army big so that they can lessen their unemployment rate, otherwise they would have a revolt on their hands.

Russia doesn't have much of an armed forces, which is why they fear the expansion of NATO, and our presence in the Gulf. They do have nukes, but not much of a conventional force.

Isreal has the toughest military per capita, because they are surrounded by enemies and have so little land.

India and Pakistan have nukes, but not much of a modern force between them.

The only force comparable to America's is Europe's, but they form NATO with us. Still, the UK has a great force, and France can potentially have a good force too.

The USA, ill put it simply. the world spends $1 trillion every year on the military, The USA contributes $400 Billion of that, and second place is Russia a bit far back with $65 Billion.
You cant argue with figures like that!

(plus these figures are for a couple of years ago and US military expenditure is rising!!)

It depends upon how you describe power. In terms of weaponry, troops, and the ability to project power, it's hard to beat the good ole USA. On the other hand, a determined insurgency wields its own kind of power that doesn't easily succumb to conventional power.

USA.... technology... training

far superior technology to any other nation out there... (mainly due to the fact we spend more, as people have said)

China has a huge force... but I think they would have MAJOR deployment and organizational issues if they were involved in a large offensive outside of Asia... but they could put up a fantastic defense... or offense against bordering nations...

USA. We have the best training weaponry and technology around the world. China has the man power but not the skills and technology to match us. Europe well they have drawn their military so far down that even a rag tag African Malitia can probably beat them, with the exception of the Royal Marines they are still world class. India has a large army but they do not care about world affairs just being better than Pakistan. Israel has a strong military and a crap load of hot chicks in it but they still do not match our military might.
