The fridge in my garage is not cooling as well as it should. I have vacumned out the coils, front and back. The compressor checks good. I realize that this is a self contained system, but what else should I check? Where is the freon charging port typically located on a fridge?

The refrigerant 134a is the same chemical compound for both systems. Your garage may be too hot, and the fridge cannot remove the heat fast enough to recover the heat gain of the garage. If it worked last year, check the circulating fan. You may have lost the charge, but most systems do not have a charging valve, you will have to call in a repair company.
Good luck.

Orak has pretty well covered everything, although inside the refrigerator many have a thermostat looking control that will increase the temp of the freezer and many have a fresh food section selector by turning knob this you can divert more cooling to the fresh food section...

domestic fridges usually have a sealed-off tube, not accessible without a special self-piercing valve.
