First off, I am an unbiased Bears fan. Offhand I'd say that the Redskin's chances are about 25%. They are in the toughest division in the NFC, which gives them a rough schedule and less chance of nabbing a wild card. On the other hand they are set to play the AFC East and the NFC Central. Only two of the AFC East teams are really scary and only one of the NFC Central teams is halfway decent. This effectively balances their schedule. Playing the Bucs and the Cards shouldn't hurt either.

While Gibbs' magic seems to be fading, I just think they will be a lot better than they were last season. I expect them to get their defense back to respectability and to have a "good enough" offense powered by Portis and Campbell. They underachieved and lost games they should have won last year, this year I expect them to overachieve and to win games that they should lose.

100%

The Washington Redskins will win their division. Last year
they got off to a bad start when they lost Clinton Portis in the preseason and he was never the same. they also discovered that Jason Campbell has a huge arm and that he can play.

this offseason they got a lot of defensive back help in laron landry and fred smoot, plus they got a great veteran in london fletcher.

the redskins only need to deal with the giants (who lost tiki barber, and whose players all seem to hate their coach) the eagles (who have no receivers and whose qb is always hurt) and the cowboys (who have a qb who the league has figured out). Brandon Jacobs is definitely not an every down back.

The redskins have the best running back tandum in the league, with Portis and Ladell Betts. they have the best receivers in the NFC with Moss, Randle El, and Lloyd and they also have one of the best tight ends in Chris Cooley. the receivers will play much better now that they have more chemistry and understand the system. the redskins also have the best offensive line in the NFC, and their linebacker core with Marcus Washington, Fletcher, and LeMar Marshall should be pretty good. their new kicker, shaun suisam, played very well towards the end of the season. the only thing they need help on is their d-line; they should trade for michael strahan or some other vet who can help them

basically, all of this adds up to one thing: another gibbs dynasty

JJ the difference between the Skins and the other teams around the league is their management works hard to bring in the best they can. ..every year.

They make money..have prideful fans ..year in and year out..even last season were in the hunt to make a statement.
they are one year removed from the playoffs..have two proven 1,000 yard rushers and like the other poster stated finally have a Qb with the skills to play.

their Defense which was ravaged by injury looks healed and they are on the cusp of getting a top flight Def. End..they have signed depth at corner and drafted the best Def, player in the draft Landry ... Corn. Griffin is healthy...he dominated the line of scrimmage in '05..and was hurt last year.

If they go out and play hard..show up..play well within their division and do a better job at Fed EX...there is no reason
with the squad they have that they can't make the playoffs..

Maybe if they were in NY or Boston...some of these people
would know something about them...but everything revolves around them.

I will say 50% chance. They finally have a quarterback. Mark Brunell should have never started. Jason Campbell is no all star but from what I saw last season he has the potential to be a decent QB. The redskins defense is pretty good but sometimes they give up big plays. If the defense can stay consistent and Campbell is healthy they can go to the playoffs.

Very good. Since Tiki Barber of the NY Giants retired, the Giants have absolutely no ground game, and Eli is still searching for his identity as a quarterback. Therefore the Redskins and the Cowboys should make the playoffs.

The redskins will go as far as Qb takes them if he has a great year something might happen but they have a really weak pass rush and still have not found a number 2 wideout to go with moss

I say a 5. Yeah Mike Shanahan is a huge coach, yet different than for Donovan McNabb they nevertheless lack a great form of intensity on the OL and at WR. Larry Johnson replaced right into a solid signing, yet with the Cowboys, Eagles and Giants the two enjoying them two times, it extremely is in basic terms no longer sufficient to push them over the area. BQ: it extremely is going to be solid, yet no longer Favre vs. Packers thrilling.

Pretty much every NFC team has a shot at making the playoffs. I mean, when you can win a division with a .500 record, or get a wild-card spot with a losing record, anything is possible.

with the D revamped and the players getting healthy along with portis returning they have a good shot at returning to the team they were the year before last and getting back to the post season
