Some of the newer mattresses do not need to be flipped...(better brands)...

I do not have a cover, but I would recommend one to control dust mites, yuck, and anything that you wouldn't want "soaking" into your mattress...if you know what I mean...

You can vaccum it, it won't hurt it...

Vacuuming is a great way to keep the dust level down. The dust that accumulates on a mattress includes dirt particles, skin flakes, dust mite poo... shall I stop now?

A mattress cover makes a more comfortable sleeping surface under your sheet, and it is much easier to clean than the mattress cover. Plus, not so much dust will get to your mattress. You can choose from simple and lightweight covers, allergen blocking covers, and thickly padded covers.

Mattresses sold as "no flip" aren't the same on both sides. See http://ask.metafilter.com/15408/NoFlip-Flop for a discusson!). The mattress should still be rotated for even wear.

To cover or not.....I prefer to but it's your choice. It's just another protection against body sweat for your mattress and easy to throw into the washer. Most of the new mattresses do not need to be flipped and shouldn't be. You wouldn't find the same weave on the other side. It never hurts to vacuum anything so go ahead and vacuum your mattress when you can.

A mattress cover helps to prevent the house dust mite. You should turn your mattress every time you change the bedding as it evens the wear on the springs etc.Vacuuming it is a good idea too.

I prefer to always use mattress cover for my mattress, especially in the winter, as it keeps me warmer. I flip my mattress every three months to allow even wear. I vacuum my mattress once a month & spray it with Lysol spray. (white can....great scent) Then, I let the mattress air out all day. It smells fresher by doing that regularly.

I did have a mattress who had to kill me. i do no longer comprehend what I did to the mattress, yet we quickly parted techniques. The mattress to the dumpster and me to the hands of yet another mattress. It became love on the beginning up sight. And the romance remains on going. So do no longer settle for an abusive mattress. genuine love is accessible. And in case you like me this is as close to to genuine love as you will get.
