it doesn't- there was an issue with weight gain in the 60's and 70's but much improvement has been made.
Talk to your doctor- there are several different types based on hormone levels - together you can determine which one is best for you. Worst case scenario if you had weight gain - studies show a max of about 5 pounds then change to a different brand with a different hormone level.

Just say NO to depo...all health effects aside I gained a crazy amount of weight and I was always slender.

I did eventually find a birth control pill that worked for me, so let your doctor know if ur having hunger or hormone issues.

My mom always said that you can't get fat if you aren't putting food in your mouth, so good luck. Besides now that I am pregnancy(by choice) I have realized carrying a little pudge is better than carrying a baby if u aren't ready for one.

Years ago the pills made you gain lots of weight. I didn't gain any weight on yaz or yazmin but it was during basketball season so I was exercising a ton.

it depends on your body and what type of birth control you get on but do me a favor and DO NOT get on the depo, that will make sure you gain weight and it will stick with you. certain ones have certain effects
