I have an all-day doctor's appointment in Houston three-weeks from now, so I'm planning to fly into to Houston Continental the day before my ordeal. A restaurant around the Rice Village area would be perfect.

I agree, Rice Village would be a great place to try out a few places.

For breakfast, I would try Le Peep or Buffalo Grille.

For lunch, try Nit Noi, Hungry's or Benjy's.

For dinner, try Prego, Kubo's (sushi) or Ruggles.

Good source for finding reviews on restaurants in the area:
http://www.b4-u-eat.com/ or www.citysearch.com

Hope this helps! :-)

The following website allows you to search for restaurants in Houston by zip code. The Med Center zip is 77030. Rice Village zip is 77005 and Zip 77054 is also very near and includes the Reliant Stadium area.

Don't know the exact range of your hotel shuttle -- if you're going to eat one restaurant meal in Houston, it would make sense to do it at a Tex-Mex place. My favorites in that realm are (in order) Chuy's on Westheimer, Pappasito's on Richmond, and Ninfa's near Kirby and Richmond -- all located w/in about 3 miles of the Marriott.

Good luck at the doc's.
