yes in dos.

check it!
in windows click start, run, type in COMMAND

in the black dos window that opens, type
TRACERT WWW.YAHOO.COM

when I do it I see a "hop" that has the ip my provider provides me (you might see a few since your accessing a network and its routers) but the second hop shows me austtxrdsc-rtr2.austin.rr.com
I live in austin and I use RoadRunner from time warner....

anyway, it actuallys show you all the computers (routers I think), that the signal traveled throught to communicate to yahoo.

click start run type command type TRACERT WWW.YAHOO.COM after a few lines near the end of the line it will show your internet service provider's server such as if you had comcast it would say near the right hand side comcast.net with a long web address before it

Go to http://www.whatismyip.com/
It will show your IP
Then go to http://www.arin.net/ and enter the IP into the WHOIS search box on the top right.
It will display the company.

http://dnsstuff.com also has alot of tools for searching IPs, etc.

If you're looking for free internet access at home, knowing what the library uses is probably not going to help you. Yes, you get access for free when you're at the library, but that doesn't mean the library doesn't pay for it.
