Can EVERYTHING possibly be covered by the internet? A friend I were having a debate. Can you really do everything online?? What type of website do you feel the need for? What haven't you seen, as far as a website??

You can't cook online, but you can get a recipe. You can see a hybrid of the United States, but you can't see one of Iraq. There is a lot that isn't here. If you know something and you want it put on the web, get going on it.

You can do pretty much anything you can think up. I had a pizza delivered the other day that I ordered off the Internet.

If you can touch it you can probably buy it. Take eBay for example. Need a house? motorcycle? spring for some rare and hard to find techno gadget? yep they have it.

Any kind of communication can be replicated on the Internet. There are even "Virtual Bullies" now.

As far as the physical world is concerned you can control pretty much everything with a few clicks. Need to move to a new city? Click a few times and people come to your house and pack things up. The land you just bought is waiting for you. You can even stay connected on the road with wireless Internet hot spots.

OK, here is something you can't do... Go to the dentist online. But you can research and find the best one available through message board forums!

Lacking on the Internet, IMHO, is online College. There are many degree mills that promise a degree with no work, but honest-to-goodness, accredited online courses are still in their infancy. They are working on it, but few colleges offer a large range on online courses.

Hope that helps!

EDIT: To answer a post above me, you CAN get exercise online! My gym has the internet hooked up to some of the equipment. You can surf and workout at the same time!

EDIT2: No physical contact over the internet? What about these engineers?

well full on grinding sex is still kind of out of the question..anything involving full on "human touch" is still out of the question, and going places to really experience them, no you cannot do that. Sure you can look at pictures of Yosemite Valley, or Mt Rainier, but that's not the same as being there..etc..

As for everything else that makes up day to day life sure, that's already dealt w/..

You can do TONS of things...but not EVERYTHING... You can't feel things online (like hot, cold, rough smooth), but what would you need that for? As far as I'm concerned everything is ok as is.

You can't have physical contact online. That makes it impossible to eat, slap someone, have sex, etc. And I mean real sex here people, cyber sex is nothing more than mutual masturbation.

not "everything", but in some ways more and someways less. for example, with games, you can do things you wouldn't normally be able to do but in reality you can take a shower
