I think we should because then we would actually get out and work. Their would no longer be the Rich and the Poor. No longer would we have the very rich do nothing to conturibute to society excpet crazy stories and no longer would we have the poor do nothing except get free money. People might actually get out there and help one another. But thats just a theory.

That's been tried more than once. There was a barter system established in the 1980's that rapidly became so inflated that it vanished almost as soon as it became established.
For a couple of months it made a good tax dodge.
The "powers that be" in the government just let it ride itself out and didn't even try to fight it.
I think they knew, from the experiences of history , what would happen. They were right!

Inevitably that is exactly what will happen if our population and borders are not placed under strick control. That is what the Seirra Club members have been working on for years, to show Americans what is is like to live in a Third World country. Evironmental Extremists are responsible for re-wilding areas they believe should belong to the animals and place their rights above that of humans and where they live!

Most are Sierra Club Members filthy rich and they do not take into account that is is the American people through taxes that pay for the gifts we give to those countries! Now we're almost broke!

Absolutely not. You are wrong in so many ways.

First the ultra rich contribute, usually more than most of us. Bill Gates has employed thousands, made millionaires of thousands, and increased business and personal productivity of millions if not billions of people. Other ultra rich like Larry Ellison, Henry Ford, Howard Hughes, Warren Buffet, Sam Walton, etc. have done the same.

Secondly, barter doesn't work. If I want a loaf of bread, I have to go to the baker and find something I have that he wants. If I don't, I have to find someone who has something he wants, and that want's something of mine, make that trade, and then go back to the baker and trade for the loaf of bread. Now imagine that scenario for every single item and service you purchase.

No thanks! I'll stick to money thank you. While I'm at it, I'll praise all those very rich people who employee millions in this country and produce valuable goods and services.

Technically, we are still on the barter system. My employer and I have bartered and come to an agreement that I will give him my labor and he will give me money. I then take my money and barter it to the grocery store for food. In my line of work it would be nearly impossible for me to barter directly with the grocer for food. Since I don't like starving, I think our current system works fine.

Barter system will be inevitable if this government fails to retain control. I believe it is not a bad idea to have some precious metals like gold/ silver coins incase the currency fails to retain its value. As for reverting to the barter system, it inhibits economic activity. It is okay for a community to perform such actions, but it will be difficult for the state and neighboring areas to work cooperatively.

i think your ideas about the do nothing rich and the do nothing poor are pretty well off base. mostly people are struggling just to get by. and working ! bartering is a good
thing but it can only work in smaller community's. not on a large
city wide level.

Go back to? LOL I never got off of it. It's the perfect way to keep from paying exuberant taxes.
