I keeping hearing people say that it doesn't exist and that if it does government action is a stretch. Do u agree?

Sure, it seems as though there is a warming trend. As far as the government doing something to correct it, just look at this debacle to get my opinion on that. That's what happens when you jump into crap without really fully considering the consequences.

Oh, wow, Al Gore and several other thousand democrats would cheer government action right about now. "Global warming is ruining us, coastlines will be flooded and we will all die! Let's start driving hybrids and using solar panels and we will all be safe!"

SHUT UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Global warming is one of the dumbest, stupidest, and ridiculous theories out there. Oh no, the temperature is raising. I'm sure our climate has never gone through changes in temperature before, this must be the first time..........NOT!

It's stupid to assume that just because the temperatures have gone up a bit that the Earth is going into a "global warming." Our climate has gone through changes before, it's stupid and ignorant to assume that it is the issue now. And the do you know how much the temperature has raised (According to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change)? .6 degrees Celsius OVER THE LAST CENTURY. That is so significant, isn't it? I don't think so either.

And this slight SLIGHT raise in temp isn't our fault at all. Half of the global warming of the last century has happened between 1900 and 1945. If it was our fault, it would have happened more recently, seeing as we have been burning more fuel more recently.

So don't buy into the crap about how global warming will wreck us, it's all a bunch of stupid political garbage.

This is unclear. Is this Air Traffic that is causing the worst, plus slash and burn techniques in the rain-forests, or as a recent Danish study claims radiation bursts from a "nearby" supernova that is heating the upper atmosphere?
Why should Europe be pledging to reducing emissions, yet at the same time European Parliament announces the de-regulation of transatlantic flights? Is the Navy controlled Haarp Project micro-waving the upper atmosphere too much? Who has the real power to do anything, the governments, the military or some other dark invisible entity behind all this?

This like asking if oxygen exists. Of course "global warming" exists. It is a natural climate change just as "global cooling" in the 1970's. I is as natural as the Ice Age and mini-Ice Age. These climatic anomalies have been in existence since time immemorial unlike industrial technology. While human beings have contributed vast amounts of polutants to the environment, it is a stretch to then conclude that we are changing the climate of the earth.

The "global warming" crusade is a political issue, not scientific. The fact that so-called scientists serve the cause should not be taken as proof for scientists and other "intellectuals" have throughout our history given their name to causes which were wholly inconsistent with the facts at their disposal. I can point to the wild historical distortions of Howard Zinn, the "socio-political" analysis of Noam Chomsky and the views of Soviet economist regarding the "health" of the Soviet economy during the Cold War.

These people were among huge communities of like-minded adherents who sincerely believed that scholarship is best directed towards the interests of their causes. A detached "search for truth" is, in their view, hopeless as all truth is ultimately subjective to begin with according to the Post-Modernist Cultural Marxism.

The earth may be experiencing a climactic change which we cannot control or be a contributor of. The culprit is the sun.
If carbon dioxide has increased due to our output of industrial emissions, then a partial solution would be to curtail them as well as increasing the quantity of plants and trees which consume/filter out co2's and replace them with oxygen -O's.

Smog or smoke that reaches the upper atmosphere will act as a blanket over parts of the earth and essentially cool the earth's atmosphere by blocking the suns' rays.

"Mars Melt Hints at Solar, Not Human, Cause for Warming, Scientist Says"

It seems like a gigantic task to turn it around if it exists. I think the earth will be able to filter itself out and if it doesn't, then the earth has to go through this change as part of its natural pattern. As far as we are concerned, we will either pass all kinds of laws prohibiting any kind of pollution, or we just go with the natural phenomenon and hope that the earth will adjust to the suns' increased output .

Essentially nobody denies that global warming exists. It's a measured effect:

What people dispute is that global warming is caused by humans. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) was established to evaluate the risk of climate change brought on by humans, based mainly on peer reviewed and published scientific/technical literature. It is the foremost group of climate experts on the planet, and has concluded with over 90% certainty that humans are the primary cause of the current global warming. For further details I suggest you read the Summary for Policymakers from their most recent report. It's only 18 pages long with lots of nice graphs and summarizes the science and conclusions very well:

I also believe that the US government must take action to address this problem. For starters, the US is the biggest emitter of carbon dioxide of any country, accounting for nearly one-quarter of the entire wold population's CO2 emissions. We're also a wealthy developed country so we certainly have the means to address the problem. We would also benefit from reducing our greenhouse gas emissions by becoming less dependent on foreign oil, improving our air and health, and becoming more energy efficient which would save money in the long run.

Well, until we can control what happens with the sun which causes changes in our weather/climate, we, as human beings, can do nothing.

Maybe you should ask why government thinks it can do something that human technology has yet to be able to do.

Do you think that it may be a method of controlling the people? And if so, please take note of who is promoting global warming and specifically what that group of people's agenda and history are. You may surprise yourself.

Oh and as for proof of who or what actually controls our weather, check with the WeatherChannel or any other meteorologist. After all, they are experts on the weather.

Whether or not Global warming exist, is really a moot point

The Real Points

We need to try to stop air pollution

We need to cut our dependence on foriegn oil

Most of the things that the global warming crowd want address these two major problems

It's in it's first stages but yes, it does exist and there is nothing anyone can do about it. It's a natural occurrence that has happened many times in the earth's history.

Don has good points. I think it does or I should say my attitude is why keep taking a chance with what we are doing?

To stop the warming or to get a new energy plan would require sacrifice by the American people. They have not been called to do that in 60 years so would they....?
