Ask your teacher if you can read "1984". Believe me it's about the same reading level and a great book.

I have yet to read Catcher in the Rye but I have heard that its really good and considered a classic. Go with that one.

the catcher in the rye is VERY good!!! never heard of babbit. but like i said you see the main character holden change drastically throughout the book, which in some cases you may be able to relate.

I think A has the best answer - but if you have to chose one I'd go with Catcher - very readable, about something you may well identify with - and, if you want to read only one, pretty short!

i read catcher when i was in high school and i remember loving it but that was about 8 years ago. i have never heard of the other one tho. good luck!
