He left Bag End (his home) September 22. The ring was destroyed March 3 of the following year. He got back to the shire right around September of that year to find it ransacked and destroyed by Sauraman (retribution for the ents destroying his home). It took another month or so to start getting the shire back in order, but by the following summer, it was better than it had ever been. Three years later, Frodo left middle earth with Gandalf, Elrond, Galadriel and Bilbo. Sam went after rosey died and Gimli and Legolas went after aragorn died at the ripe old age of 210.

Gee I don't know.... I think they lost track of day and night in Moriah, and then again in Mordor....

but, as a fair guess, I'd say some 2 or 3 months.

If I ever read the Lotr again I'll count the days.

IT took over 400 years.. From the time of the ring conception to the time it was destroyed...................... Does it amaze you about the number of people that just fail to just listen to things that they were told in that fantasy.. Why do people pay good money to see something and then not listen to what is being said lol............................................................... It is no wonder that this very real world is doomed.......................................
