1. If you have a sprinkler system you can either run a valve off your main line and hook up a float. The float will work like a toilet and when the water level gets low your sprinkler system will automatically fill the fountain.
2. Also with a sprinkler system you can just position a head to spray into the fountain whenever it comes on. This only works with low fountains which can be sprayed into.
3. Position your fountain in the shade and out of the wind where less evaporation will take place. You will never be free from evaporation as it takes place naturally.
4. Fill up with hose. Last resort. Just make sure you have a pump that will automatically shut off if the water gets low.
5. Also make sure the water quality is good. You can use chlorine typically. Mosquito dunks are great for elimating mosquitos if you don't plan on running your fountain constantly.

Like I do, with a hose.

My fountain has a little over-splash, but that adds up, and after about 2 days, I need to add water. You could conceivably rig something like with a float to work like a toilet tank that will add water when the level gets low.

I haven't gone all Tim Allen on that yet.

You cannot stop evaporation so you can just refill when the level gets low. If the fountain is outside, it gets worse with wind and animals that may consider it a "drinking" fountain.
