Yes there are lots of laws in UK .. starting with import duty and VAT ... and even if you did manage to get it in un-noticed, just about anywhere you tried to sell it would report you

Not only do we have very strict anti-money laundering laws and un-marked (i.e. without Hall Marks) gold is always assumed to the the melted down proceeds of criminal activity (burglary)
