Yes and Yes. It all depends on where you are as to what you'll find around you. Some clubs might advertise on pet store bulletin boards, or if there's a university near you, see if they have a herpetologist on their biology staff. You can also do a google search on "(your state) herpetology/herpetological" and see if there's a state group, and through this find some more local groups. Magazines in pet stores (Reptiles, Reptile USA, Reptile and Amphibian) also have sections for shows and clubs (take a look before you buy to see listings). If you pick up a reptiles magazine they always have adds for reptile clubs and expos where you can buy reptiles at.
