I don't know too much about George Bush and his laws and stuff on homosexuality. Can someone explain why he hates it, what laws he's made on it, etc.?

George W. Bush, proving that he has it backwards, has never done anything at all to help gays.

He has done a lot to hurt gays by campaigning for constitutional amendments against gay marriage in each state, and he has aggressively promoted a federal amendment to 'protect' marriage, i.e., limit it to married hetero-couples.

But the religious extremists are furious because silly Bush put a notice on the White house website last week promoting and congratulating Mary Cheney and her wife Heather Poe as the proud 'parents' of a new baby boy.

Well he is a religious man, so he thinks that his religion and his political stance as a Republican are both acceptable to say that homosexuality is wrong. He doesn't stop if from happening, but he is against gay marriage and civil unions.

He hasn't made any laws, Congress and the Senate make laws. He can only veto them. And all state-wide marriage rejections are done by state courts, not Senate or Congress.

He's a bible thumping asshole who thinks he will get more support if he bans gay marriage. He's trying to push religion on all of us(the bible says gay is a sin). He actually tried to make some sort of law in the constitution that would ban marriage between gays. It's sad to see that our world is full of discrimination.

He personally hasn't made ANY laws...the President can't.
But he's attempted to make a new amendment to the Constitution banning gay marriage...that fell flat on it's face.
Anyone with half a brain realized Bush was just using the Gay Marriage thing to hide other crap he was pulling in Iraq.

Hopefully not the same thing he's doing about the Iraqi people or the people dying in Darfur. Because if he ever does, somebody let me know, will ya? I've always wanted to live in Toronto...

the President of the United States cannot personally make any laws, regardless of what some people may believe.

He hates homosexuality for the same reason most people do. Fear and ignorance.

He's trying to make it against the law of the land for gay people to marry each other. It's pathetic and sad, yes. But we don't have to allow it.

George Bush does not make laws, dear. He is not a legislator. The laws that exist concerning homosexuality (whatever they may be) are certainly not "his" laws.

Why does he hate it? He is a Christian and adheres to the Biblical condemnation of homosexuality.

President Bush is the head of the Executive Branch of government. He makes no laws. The Executive branch is responsible for making sure that our laws are obeyed.

All laws are made nationally by the legislative branch. That would be your congressmen and senators. The state governments also each have a legislative branch.

The president's opinions on any type of sexuality are basically his own. They have no impact on the life of others.
