Doesn't that violate the establishment clause in the Constitution? I don't think they would allow Christian or Jewish students to do that.

Actually i do think that is wrong. Prayer was wiped out of public schools for my kids and many other kids. If they are going to allow them to pray, them my kids and your kids should be allowed to begin the day off in prayer. OMG...i mean there are public schools who don't allow the Pledge of Allegiance, because it says the world God.
I got upset when they wouldn't allow my kids when they were in Head Start to have anything to do with any of the national holidays, because of one child with a different belief. All of our children had to suffer because of it. They were not allowed to even say the word God, because it may offend that ONE child.
They should get no different treatment then our kids. Maybe if they would stop seperating the ppl in that school system and allow them to be with the other children, they would find that the hate, name calling and what not would slow down because they wouldn't being pointed out as different.

CAIR (Council on American Islamic Relations) is at it again. it does not surprise me any more. Christians praying to God (belief in whom was a founding basis for our country) is totally unacceptable. prayer or religious activities in schools or other public venues are strictly inappropriate and outlawed...
Unless you are a Muslim...then it is a hate crime if we don't let you pray openly and publicily in these same schools and public venues.
Since the Pledge of Allegiance and The Lord's Prayer
are not allowed in most public schools anymore
Because the word "God" is mentioned.... Here is a new prayer for school
Now I sit me down in school
Where praying is against the rule
For this great nation under God
Finds mention of Him very odd.
If Scripture now the class recites,
It violates the Bill of Rights.
And anytime my head I bow
Becomes a Federal matter now.
Our hair can be purple, ORANGE or green,
That's no offense; it's a freedom scene.
The law is specific, the law is precise
Prayers spoken aloud are a serious vice.
For praying in a public hall
Might offend someone with no faith at all.
In silence alone we must meditate,
God's name is prohibited by the state ..
We're allowed to cuss and dress like freaks,
And pierce our noses, tongues and cheeks.
They've outlawed guns, but FIRST the Bible.
To quote the Good Book makes me liable.
We can elect a pregnant Senior Queen,
And the 'unwed daddy,' our Senior King.
It's "inappropriate" to teach right from wrong,
We're taught that such "judgments" do not belong.
We can get our condoms and birth controls,
Study witchcraft, vampires and totem poles.
But the Ten Commandments are not allowed,
No word of God must reach this crowd.
It's scary here I must confess,
When chaos reigns the school's a mess.
So, Lord, this silent plea I make:
Should I be shot; My soul please take!
Amen

Jesus said "If you are ashamed of me,
I will be ashamed of you before my Father."

This does not surprise me one bit, yet Christians are not
allowed to pray, and forget the pledge of allegiance, that
contains the word God, so it has to go. I suppose that they
have a foot bath so they can wash their feet several times a
day as well, and a private bus??.
What is the matter with this world that we stand idly by and let
this kind of CRAP happen in our own country. If all of the
liberals are going to scream about the separation of Church
and State, why are they not screaming about this?
Not only is this B.S. it is RACIST, someone call Al Sharpton!!

well you are miss informed.
here in Chicago Muslim kids pray all the time in schools but they don't make everyone do it in a class room. just like any school club (like key club) Muslims here usually have a room reserved so they can go in and pray whenever its time for them to pray. and any religion can ask for the same treatment. and again i want to stress that they don't pray in class with kids from other religions nor is it mandatory for anyone to do so.....the reason you are mentioning that a teacher prayed with them is probably because he/she is a Muslim too. Muslims usually pray 5 or 6 times a day according to their religion and their holly day is on Friday.....Christan's don't pray 5 or 6 times a day because they don't have to....but if you are itching to do so then make a group and ask the principal for a similar setting and he wont deny it.
and as far as the private bus issue goes, well Muslims don't just have one race. Muslims from middle east are Caucasians like Jews and Christians. and if the Muslim girls want a private ride home with each other then how is that your or my business? have you seen kids car pool before? would make a issue out of that too if you see all white christian kids in a vehicle?

What I heard that it was a school employee not a teacher. this separate bus thing is a little much. I'm sorry, I would have to tell them that if they didn't like the current system they could drive the kids to school themself.

the prayer in school i disagree with, unless they go to the same lengths to allow students of other faiths to practice their religions in school as well. I bus I can see, as it directly relates to their religion and denying it would interfer in their religion, but I feel the parents of the students should be coving the cost of that bus.

Just more politically correct idiocy. Chalk up another one for school choice, not that the staunch defenders of failing government schools give a rats.

Stupid.
Everyone is so afraid of Muslims - so we let them do whatever they want!
We need to grow balls as a Nation again! And stop being so whipped by the Muslims. Makes me sick.

If it is happening it should be stopped. Islam is a cult religion of submission and abuse. We as tax payer should never allow our public school tax dollars to pay for the isolation of girls.
