Which cylinder is the #4 cylinder in a 2000 Ford Focus; 4-cylinder engine?

Number 4 cylinder is closes to driver side of engine; number 1 is closes to drive belt as everyone else stated.

Fuel gauge could be off, maybe some water in the bottom of tank or a weak pump..

#1 is nearest the pulley. (fan belts)
#4 is the furthest form the pulleys.

Goes front to rear, with #1 in the front.
