and you have an idea of who it is, but have no witnesses, or no proof that he did it and the cops filed a police report that was useless...what would you do after this point?

well I don't condone doing anything if it's not proven because it's just not worth the time and aggrivation but auto stores do sell products that can take care of the paint on the car :o). there is some battery acid that you can buy from behind the counter that will remove paint within 60 seconds or brake fluid. but I would just chalk it up as a loss.

good luck....stay out of trouble

Replace the tire...
If you have no way of proving who it was, there isn't much you can do. I guess I would get a used tire on the chance that someone might come back and do it again. Did it happen to anyone elses vehicle in the area, or a direct target at you?

You could always stake out the area, hoping to catch them in action if they did it again, but who knows if they will and when.

Hopefully the police are aware of who you think it is and why, even though they aren't likley to investigate that much, if it happens again though they probably will look into it more.

This happened to me a couple years ago, but I actually heard the air from my living room window, looked out my window and I saw the person coming from behind my car.
If you seen nobody, I really don't think there's anything you can do.
This person got all 4 of my tires (had just put them on 2 weeks before that too).

The reality and I know you do not want to hear this, is that there is nothing you can do unless you know and can prove they did it. Now, if you know beyond a shadow of a doubt, but the authorities will or cannot help based upon your evidence..check some of the other "creative" answers above. Paint remover and or brake fluid come to mind.

You mean before or after the S.O.B. is hospitalized? I'd change my tire, of course, then buy a new tire to replace the damaged one. I might even send the b*****d some flowers while he's recovering from a terrible beating that he received at the hands of "person or persons unknown"!

My guess is that you don't want to go to jail over this?

I would replace the tire and just be sure to distance yourself from the person you suspect did it!

Pour two liter bottle of rootbeer all over his car.
