Skin cells in rats can be manipulated into stem cells and from there they can be transformed into any tissue or whatever

okay it is not stem cell research that people have trouble with. it is embryonic stem cell research. pres. Bush has given more money to stem cell research then another president.also empiric stem cells from rats has caused brain tumors.

Rat cells are one thing, but creating a living embryo just for the stem cells is wrong and I will never support it. Maybe its just because I am a mother and a woman who has dealt with the loss of a child, I am a pro life activist! And this is still a living thing! There are other ways to get cell for research. i.e. the umbilical cord, and even adult stem cells.

I support ALL different approaches to this research...the use of using aborted tissue has been blown completely out of proportion to reality...so far, I have not heard of anyone "breeding" people to get their stem cells...the fear is completely irrational

I've always supported it because as long as abortion is legal, the research gives them a purpose. The alternative is the medical waste bin.

If they are non-embryonic, then I'm sure republicans would be for it. I'm not for federal funding of anything even if it is morally ok.
