Check your screensaver and power settings. If your power settings are set to kick in before the screensaver, that could be the problem. If this isn't the case, you could elaborate on your issue in the details area of your question.

Nobody needs to use a screen saver anymore.

The real problem is: Why won't XP display them.

Best guess, you have malware.

Use the Discovery TAB here, or google for it, to learn more about malware.

close all windows
right click on open area of desk top
choose properties
choose screen saver
choose password protect on resume
this will be your password as you are the administrator
be sure to set the time for screen saver to come on
