I was at my neighbors house yesterday and her sister was there cursing up a storm, I don't think she has a very big vocab, but I was wondering....Men, do you find woman who curse a lot less attractive? Ladies, do you find a man who curses a lot less attractive? I ask because this woman was pretty but after listening to her for about five minutes, I couldn't wait to get away!

Mrsknowit, I forgot to mention my six year old was sitting in my lap, and when I excussed myself she asked me if I was mad...I told her I was a little upset that she was talking that way in front of my child and I didn't want her expossed to that kind of language. She looked at me like I was stupid! I feel it was disrespectful to talk like that in front of a child.

Like attracts like usually.

Guys who are poorly educated and with a limited vocabulary would accept a lady who curses, after all they're speaking the same language when you get right down to it. On the other hand well educated guys would tend to look at a woman who has a limited vocablary and curses a lot as someone too far beneath them to want to spend time with.

I'm one of the latter. I am attracted to women with whom I can have meaningful conversations with on all kinds of topics, women who have a vocabulary that enables them to express their opinions well and effectively. When I come across a crass one who is unable to converse with me in like fashion I get very uncomfortable because I can't relate to her and I don't have a clue what to talk to her about. Any comment I may make about a political question would simply get me an invective as though that was the only answer that was needed.

So yes, I think a woman's vocabulary determines the kinds of men they will attract.

As to your walking away with your child, BRAVO! I would have done exactly the same thing. I'd have excused myself gently and simply left with the kid. If I was asked I'd have given exactly the same answer.

However since it is a neighbour, I'd probably have returned to chat a little after I put the kid to bed. I do believe in being neighbourly once in a while so that I remain on good relations with the neighbours since I do have to live with them.

I hope that answers your question.

I know you asked the men, but I think women that curse constantly just appear trashy and uneducated. Hate the double standard but it does seem different when a man curses. My husband is military so I am very used to a lot of expletives from the guys but cant stand to hear it coming from a woman.

Come on people you are all full of S#@*&! Acting like you ain't never said a curse word.

I am 26 and at the top of my game career wise! And as classy as they make em' I can smooze with the best of em' and I probably make more money sitting her on my a s s blogging on YA than half of you goody goodies who are pretending like it hurts there ears to hear a cuss word. I agree it's not appropriate everywhere therefore I don't use profane language everywhere but under this circumstance she was at her sisters house venting.

She was in her comfort zone. Me personally I cuss like a sailor but only amongst people I am comfy with sisters/brother close relatives ie. cousins and girlfriends, that's just us and how we do when we get together and kick our feet up and let our hair down. It's not like I'm at work chalking it up with colleagues in the break room cussing and carrying on.

My hubby knows that I can cuss with the best of em' he just doesn't bring that out in me. He has known me for many years and he knows that if need be I will cuss his a s s out real good.

Some people just need to decipher the fact that there is a time and place for everything in this particular circumstance maybe your neighbor has told her previously that you where a cool person therefore she didn't feel the need to sugar coate her dialogue.

Bottom line is there is a time and place for everything and the fact of the matter is you where at your neighbors house and her sister was there cussing up a storm.

She wasn't in your house she was in her sisters house, therefore you have to realize three things first it's her sister you are just the neighbor and therefore she will always hold precedence over you

Second, if you where offended then you should have politley excused yourself

Third I'm sure she could have cared less what you thought about her and if you tried to put your two cents in she probably would have cussed your a s s out too.

Now I can understand your anger I agree with you she should have had the decency to respect the fact that your child was there. You should have said that before I wrote a damn book

Don't like men who curse at all, and married one like that. He's works in the trades, and just HATES the language all the other men use. I have a sister just older than me whose husband is a big swearer and so they taught their kids too, and thought it was funny. It was really hard to be around them with our child...
We've taught our son that people who swear just aren't intelligent enough to be creative to come up with decent words....

People who use vulgarity are typically lowlifes. And they show it. There was a day when woman was gentile. And men didn't have diarrhea mouth.

The English language is actually very beautiful, and people can actually better express themselves through the creative use of our language.

A year ago, I met a wonderful woman who never swears. She's adorable.

It does show a lack of education. I mean, My friends and I curse a lot around each other, but that's just being guys. it might be a double standard, but to hear a woman, Msknowitall for example, cursing a blue streak? No thanks. I'm sure Msknowitall aint all that she makes herself out to be.

Your question has nothing to do with marriage & divorce. And yes, cursing makes anyone less attractive, and reveals their lack of class.

Cursing is a reflection on the person, and those who tolerate it. If you are uncomfortable I would avoid visiting when she is there. It does show lack of class, integrity, and morals.

Depends on how they curse. Clever cursing as opposed to just inane blabbing cursing.
