Yes, it will likely take longer. Will it be more expensive? Probably, but it depends on a LOT of factors that you don't provide here. The best thing you can do is call a divorce attorney. You'll get better information there than you'll ever get here. In any case, unless you know in your heart that your husband is a better dad than you are a mom, fight for that child! She deserves the best parent she can get. Do whatever is right for HER, and you can't go wrong.

There is no way to answer that question. You are going to have to get an attorney, there will be some mediation process that takes place and if the two of you can settle the seperation agreements, visitation and custody in mediation, you could save at least 3-4,000.00 in court associated lawyer fees.

he will certainly get joint custody of he has no dark secrets, and you both will have to deal with alimony and child suppoort issues. The more journeys to court, the more money it will cost.

I am afraid so baby, divorces can take years to settle and cost a bundle. You will need some sort of representation, a lawyer mabe, hope not they get all the money. Anyway you are going to have to come before a judge to settle the child issue. I am sorry for what you have to go through, good luck lady. P

It depends where you are located. I am an attorney in Cleveland, Ohio. It also depends on how many children and how much assets you have. Divorce these day is not about blame, it is about property division. I have seen complex cases cost over $50,000.00.

On average, a divorce lawyer will charge from $150.00 to $200.00 per hour. An average divorce will cost about around 5-10 thousand in attorney fees.

He could take her. You need legal help so see a lawyer before he realizes you are doing that. Do not allow him to pay for your lawyer. See one who does pro-bono work if you are broke. Where are your parents? Get them involved. BUT, make sure this is what you want. It is a fierce fight. I went through it and I won, but it was touch and go. If your parents live in another state then take the child and go there before your husband makes it where you can't.
