NO, NO, NO!!! As a college administrator, let me say that sleeping with students is considered a professional and ethical taboo. The power differential in the relationship does not provide for a healthy foundation that leads to respect and love. A professor needs to look at his or her students like a doctor who looks at his or her patients: as people who came for professional service. Hitting on your students is NOT professional!
Do you want to date someone who is unprofessional and possibly unethical? Please don't risk your emotions in this way.

Teacher-student, or more specifically professor-student, femmeslash fics are my guilty pleasure, heh.
But as to real life, I doubt I would have much qualms about having a relationship with my (hypothetical) college professor, assuming that it's a two-sided attraction. I wouldn't jump into bed with her, just as I wouldn't jump into the bed of any other woman.

you can get in some serious messes doing that if you are still a student. most faculty members have to follow a set of guidelines for fraternizing with students, and depending on the school, a relationship might be against their contract. this would hurt them more than you. however... of course... it happens. i think it's better to wait until you are not their student.

I wouldn't have had a relationship with a professor if I were in her class. I'm sure most colleges punish such relationships and I wouldn't have wanted to jeopardize my education or her career.
I did have a str8 male professor come on to me, and he was quite polite about it. He was also ok with it when I told him I was gay and not interested. We actually became friends!

I can't think of any professors that turned me on. The chemistry would have to be there and it just wasn't.
