My 89 Lebaron has a 2.5L Turbo and started running really rough. it doesn't stall but hesitates, especially when starting off. I ran trouble codes on it and I replaced the MAP sensor at the tune of $68.99 and it didn't do anything for it. I need to pinpoint what is wrong with it before I keep buying all these expensive sensors. It doesn't overheat at all, it just runs crappy. Don't know what to do!

Bang on it with a hammer and see if you get a bunch of crap out of the tail pipe next time you start it. I'd just cut it off anyway and put a straight pipe in it. Sounds like the oxygen sensor or plugs and wires.

Well for less than 70 bucks take it in and have someone else diagnose it.
As for catalytic converter . It stinks when it goes out. It can make clanging noises or simply blow a hole in your exhaust. Usually wait for smog check to find that out.
Or find out what it takes to clear the codes maybe reset the computer. Some cases its a simple battery disconnect in others it s a little more complicated.

I had this problem and it was the catalytic converter. The car would start and run poorly. The engine could not breath.

Good luck.

if your converter is stopping up you can tell several ways, 1 check how much exhaust is coming out the tailpipe, 2 get under the car and look at the converter if it is turning red, or when mine stopped up it smelled like rotten eggs

Spend some money on an ENGINE diagnostic at a reputable shop, not just a computer scan.
