Sometimes I get mad, but it's over really stupid things that I can't talk about because people will laugh and make me more angry. Then it stores itself inside me somewhere since I can't get it out. How can I vent this anger?

The idea of taking your anger out on a 'safe' object, (e.g. pillow/cushion) is called catharsis. Studies show that when you do this you are associating you feelings of anger with violence; do this for a long enough period and you may be more likely to be violent when you're angry. It has also been shown that after taking such action, like beating up a cushion, you are actually more likely to be more angry than you were to begin with.

What you may want to do, is try to relax. Do something else, anything that will divert your attention and thus, differ your actions when you are emotional. After you've given it some time, come back to the subject which is causing anger and think about rationally.

Hope that helps.

You don't. You write it down carefully in a journal. Then look at it tomorrow. -It always looks different the next day, so update what you've observed. At the end of a month, you will have outgrown the whole thing. Guaranteed. One catch, though - don't lie. If you catch yourself lying, write why you lied.

After Three months I didn't recognize the angry fellow who had begun the journal. Never show it to anyone. Ever- or the magic won't work.

The Sir Winston Churchill way. Vent your anger on a piece of paper and shred it to the winds!

Write about. I do that. I address my letter to the person or thing that is pissing me off and make it very explicit. I let out all my frustration - once I am done, I read it over again, take a depth breath and then trash it (shred it if you can!)

By the time I am done writing, I feel much better.

NOTE: NEVER DO IT ON AN EMAIL - YOU MIGHT JUST CLICK SEND BY MISTAKE!

You could take a up a new hobby that may relax you or it could just be something you do when your frustrated. Or write it in a journal - that helps alot of people. That way your not telling it to someone but your writing it down for your own personal use. Then again you could always get a punching bag or kick box.

I run or workout hard to vent my frustration and it really helps. Yes I may still be upset over the situation but I don't have as much energy as before to want to be explosive. Also if you have someone to vent to do it or blog it!

Sit down and write a really long rant and read it. Then come back to it later when you're feeling better so you can smile. I do it sometimes. It works. I also draw and put a date on the picture and come back to it and say...ha ha i remember that day it was bad but now I feel a lot better.

Go to the gym, run around the block, get a hobby, talk to someone about your anger. Don"t do nothing because that will only add to your frustration.
