I am really interested in female responses here. I have had some female family members say they will vote for Hillary just because she is a woman. Would you?

If you do plan to vote for her, why?

LOL...yes, they can be a little blunt. Especially when it comes to politics. I will vote for Paul if he makes in on the ballot ;-) I was just polling to see how screwed we all are. How easily people would vote away their freedom.

No. Although, I would give her a very slight advantage, if all else was equal between a female and a male candidate, simply because she might fight for issues that affect women's lives more.

I will not be voting for Hilary. She has become rather "corporate", pandering to all sorts of special interest groups, and envisions a rather Orwellian world where babies are whisked away from their mothers and put into daycare at six weeks old, for eleven hours a day - even though American women *overwhelmingly* don't want that.

NO!! I would not be such an ignorant sheep I can truly say that even as a die hard feminist I would not just vote for someone simply becuase of their gender, honestly why do some oversimplify womens politics again and again?
To vote for her one the basis of being a woman is sexism for a start, and gives the impression that somehow policy is nothing....

Definitely not! Gender doesn't concern me as much as a person's political ideology.

I will not vote for Hillary based upon the fact that she is just another big government Democrat. The same can be said about the Republicans these days as well, though.

If only the Libertarian Party would rise to become a valid 3rd party!

Not on your life!
If I were British I would not have voted for Thatcher just because she was a woman.
I may vote for Hillary if she's the one who makes it through the primaries if her policies make sense to me.

True, women do need better representation in our government, but that dosen't mean we can bias the legal system or democracy.
If the woman candidate in question seems like she can handle the job and supports the issues I do, then yes, I would vote for her. But if a male candidate comes along who I think deserves the office more, then I would gladly vote for him instead.

All things being equal, I would vote for her because she is a woman and I think women should be more represented in our government. If I agreed more with another candidate, however, even only slightly more, I would vote for him.

Edit: This is not able voting away freedom. It is about increasing a woman's opportunities- which means more freedom.

no. I have to agree with her politics to vote for her, the same as if i only had men to choose from. As of right now, im not liking Hillary for this race. Her stance, and her commitment to her stance, on many important issues just doesnt fly with me.

there are in all probability an incredible style of people (often old coots) who does no longer vote for a woman if she became advised via God Almighty. besides the undeniable fact that maximum individuals, myself lined, are extra interested in themes than gender. i for my section does no longer hesitate to vote for a woman president if i presumed it became the the superb option lady, yet my ingenious and prescient of the the superb option lady is somebody like Maggie Thatcher or Golda Meier, no longer Hillary Clinton.

I take it your female family members aren't very smart and don't put much thought as to the damage they can do to all of us by thinking that way. I don't have any problem having a woman as president, just not in 2008! If you don't think Ron Paul is the greatest thing since sliced bread and should be president you have all been brainwashed beyond repair and have no will of your own! Look foreword to losing everything you have left in the next administration, up to and including your life liberty and persuit of happiness.
