No, it's not as simple as that. I think many are still convinced that it's the right thing to do. We know Saddam was a bad guy, and we know that there are bad people fighting us now, so I guess they figure the fact that they're fighting us means that they're the enemy. Hey, it's probably true. And it's probably true that some of these people would be attacking us regardless of whether we ever entered Iraq in the first place. But that doesn't make the whole thing right.
No, this is not at all about selfishness. I think its just that they don't yet understand that this is a venture that isn't going to turn out to be strategically smart.
Why would you assume such a horrible motivation? Can't you believe that they simply think this is something that needed to be done? Wasn't Saddam a mass murderer?

No.All liberals are the most selfish people on the planet and they've been against this war since 9/12,2001.They were against the war in Afghanistan and said it was un-winable and that it would be worse than Vietnam and that we would be bogged down there forever and lose just like the Soviets before. Then after that they were against the Iraq war right from the start and have been the whole time.
And Bill Clinton and the Democrats during his administration all said that war with Iraq was inevitable and called for regime change in Iraq.
And the Democrats all voted to go to war in Iraq and then tried to lie and pretend like they were against it just so they could Bush bash.
So the Democrats are for it AND against it.They voted for it before they were against it.So just like always they are trying to have their cake and eat it too. They pretend to be all things to all people which plainly and clearly illustrates that they blatantly lie and contradict themselves constantly to fool voters into voting for them. They have to trick voters into voting for them by lying.Period.

I'm against the war and always have been, but it's going to be very tricky getting out of there. Some conservatives would just as soon end the war right away, but they also worry about the aftermath.

Try to think outside your head. Conservatives know that if we leave, a tyrant will replace us. See Hitler, etc. Study some history boy. Yes, we're in a bad spot now, for a bad reason. But how we proceed is completely up for debate.

That is the only explanation that makes sense. No one can be that dumb.
Even if Bush was secretly bugged and the tape was released and it showed him to be a racist bigot laughing about how he fooled the American people into supporting this war, there would still be at least 28% of the country supporting the man.

Conservatives who want to keep this war going won't die in the war.
They will remain safely in Washington until they retire from politics and join one of the corporations they've given contracts to, and enjoy huge salaries.

When did you deploy?
How many Iraqi men women and children did you escort to a mobile Hospital?
How many Iraqi's did you protect during the elections?
How many Iraqi children have you saved from suicide VBIEDs?
How many villages have you saved from insurgence?
How many women did you prevent from getting raped by insurgence?
My guess is ZERO.
You haven't been there, you haven't seen what we have. So take you liberal, non-serving rant and kiss our asses
Thank a Soldier you can spew all the free speech you want.

And the liberal viewpoint that terrorist should be allowed to run free is the correct one? You are implying this is the correct solution.
