They will stop when they stop being paid for it.
Edit: By the way, calling Hannity, O'Reily, Liddy, LaVine, Limbough, Ingraham, Lars larson, et al. conservatives, and claiming they are representative of the breed is also a straw-man argument.
Re-Edit: Actually, it appears you've uncovered a large nest of Bushocrats who would probably be willing to replace them. Unfortunately your question does actually appear to be somewhat hypocritical in the sense that you are setting up such an implied straw-man. Your opponents are very familiar with such hypocricy and are much better at it than you. After all, they are professionals.

The "strawman" may not be the problem at the moment, but he sure isn't the solution, either.
The leftist philosophy is notoriously empty. Sadly, the Bush/ neo-Con philosophy is similarly without content.
Real conservative philosophy isn't about war, its about less government, lower taxes, individual freedom and personal responsibility. In most of these areas, the left is a disaster. On the war, the right is a disaster, but the so-called liberals aren't even unified in their opposition.
Frankly, I'm about as fed up with "liberals" as I am with the neo-cons today.

Oh, I don't know. Conservatives like myself spend a lot of time drawing distinctions between the liberal philosophy and the conservative philosophy. I don't know that we spend a lot of time attacking anyone.
I would expect liberals to do the same. How else can you hope to persuade people to accept your point of view?
I would rather hear something like "liberals believe this but here is why that is not right; we believe that and here is why",
than hear, "Bush is an idiot!"
I don't hate liberals. I want to engage with them and show them where they are correct but taking the wrong approach, or are suggesting something that is unconstitutional or explain exactly why I hold a particular point of view. I don't want to engage in name calling. I left the school yard behind me many decades ago.
I am not a child. I have much experience I am willing to share with those who will at least listen without calling me a
"racist, sexist, homophobe".
Feel free to read my other answers. There are plenty of them.

When Rupert Murdoch has enough money (in other words, never).
You're right, but the media is also in a position to help and make a difference, yet they continue to manipulate the truth and spew outright lies to cover up the fact that actually nothing gets done. We are a nation divided because of a bunch of hacks and losers are greedy.

"These guys have both the airtime and the talent to actually create real national dialog"...........
Dollface--the Libs had their say with Air America. No one listened because they spouted garbage. Your "national dialogue" I assume is your way of supporting Pelosi's 'fairness doctrine'.....which is another way of saying CENSORSHIP. If you don't like what Hannity et al are saying --don't listen or try and revive your DOA Air America.

Your straw-man is quite real unfortunately. Too many liberals trying to put us into a socialism. I work my *** off for what I have, I don't want some jacked up liberal taking my hard earned income and giving it someone who hasn't worked a day in their life.
Stephanie - ignorant by liberal terms is 'anything that contradicts' their point of view. So we are not ignorant...you keep on dreaming.

They won't stop abusing the strawman until they actually have an intelligent position with rational and reasoned thought to support it. Until then, it's the strawman and the fear card.

As opposed to all the liberal monkeys who blame everyone else, and want you to share your wealth with everyone else? Gimmee a break. Friggin' socialists.....
What about that darling of the left-wing airwaves - Al Franken? Oh, I forgot - he doesn't count... he didn't have the talent.
If you're such an expert, you get invovled with your great ideas!

If you don't like right wing talk shows then don't listen to them. This is a free country. You choose to listen to who you like including the likes of Rosie and Moore and we'll all get along just fine.
