I actually hate the NBA scheduling the past few years. I liked it when you were done with a series in a week or so. Now they are lasting weeks. I don't see why the NBA doesn't start the finals after the 2 conference final series are over instead of waiting almost a week. I have already lost interest in the games.
The ratings were so bad for last night's game. I love the NBA, but when are they going to learn that dragging out series only pisses off the fans and the casual fans won't even wait that long, not now-a-days.
What do you guys think? Do you like the playoff format now or does there need to be a change so games and series finish quicker and you don't lose interest?

#1 the Ratings are low because it's deemed to be a sure-thing win for the Spurs.

Do you realize how long the regular season is? And the kind of toll that takes on the NBA players bodies? Think about playoff games and the need to rest, adjust, and recover. It's still better then the NFL playoffs where the 1 loss can send the better team home.

How about giving the players some time to rest. They play pre-season games, then 82 regular season games. Don't they deserve a little rest? I love the NBA. I hate when it is over because there will be nothing on TV to watch until football season starts.

besides takin a toll on the players' bodies this year the cavs series lasted a game longer than spurs series so after that they need a couple of days 2 recuperate, plus with older players lke duncan the NBA wants them 2 b fresh so they dont play a sluggish game cause every1 would rather c an exciting game rather than a sluggish 1

Financial reasons. They have the season setup to pay players salaries, front office salaries, expenses, and nba executives and employees. The playoffs are setup to be like "a second season" in which bonus money is made.

I stopped watching NBA games after Jordan retired from the Bulls in 1998.

I just can't watch this new generation of ball players...
