It is actually a cancer causing agent.
I will read the back of a moter oil label:
Warning; Repeated contact with used Motor Oil HAS caused skin cancer in laboratory animals. Wash skin thoroughly with soap and water after contact.

Absolutely not. It will kill things, and make the soil unsuitable for any sort of agriculture. Used oil should always be recycled; it can be used as boiler fuel.

Please do not do that...even the service stations have a special pick up for used motor oil..it is environmentally terrible to put onto the soil.

No, it is not true and it is illegal. Should someone see you trying this and turn you in, you will be fined and pay for the contaminated dirt to be removed. Not a cheap task.

No, it will kill the grass. I know from the leak under my car. The gravel driveway HAD some grass growing through.
