Hi all, I have a 55 gallon freshwater tank: with 1 jurupari (3-4'') and a green spotted puffer (1-2 inches). I would like to add a German blue ram mating pair and possibly a black ghost knife and a kribensis pair. Any thoughts on this? I have a ton of filtration (two Whispher 60 hang on back filters working together).

One thing, the ghost knife will eat the Rams and the Kribs just as soon as it's mouth gets large enough. Minus the ghost it should be OK. Provide lots of hiding places since the Rams and the Kribs both like a "cave" in which to spawn, and territorial battles may ensue.

In the end, all will probably be ok, but I would stick with fish from the same part of the world (habitat, geographical origins) so that their needs would be similar in relation to water type, food ETC. Seems like you are going with big fish for a big tank. I once had a 40 gallon tank with nothing but Neons and Cardinals (dozens) and it was the most incredible sight. Just give them lots of hiding places if you are going to go this many species.

That would be OK, but the mating German ram might be aggressive and territorial towards the other fish, i give you a thumbs up, but watch out for the mating couple.
