is it true that it is made from animal fat (pigs) and if so what do people that are vegans use or those who don't use pork products for religious reasons?

A lot of the store bought soaps are made of Animal Tallow (aka: Sodium Tallowate). These store bought soaps are also short on glycerin....with that being said, you're drying your skin out (no glycerin) and you're clogging your pours with the animal fats.

Most soapmakers make their soaps with palm, coconut, & olive oils as their base - and add in ingredients like mango butter, cocoa butter, shea butter, jojoba oil, palm kernal, almond oil etc....non-animal fats.
Handmade soaps can also be made with milk (goats milk).

Vegetarians would use any non-animal product soap - meaning no Sodium Tallowate or Goats Milk.
And I'm sure all Jewsish folk would stay away from Pork soap lol

Must soaps are made OF ANIMAL FAT which has no benefit for the skin. You might as well GET A PORK CHOP AND RUB IT ON YOURSELF.CHECK out this site 100% VEGAN

It can be made from either or both.

If you want to be certain there are no animal fats in the soap and you don't know how to interpret the ingredient list, buy a Castile soap - it's made from olive oil. In the old days Palmolive was made from palm and olive oils, but I'm not certain that's the only ingredients these days. I haven't bought soap from the store in seven years.

Pork is banned by several religions NOT upon its use, but by its consumption. Using products that are made from pigs is nowhere close to eating bacon. And if you want a soap without animal fats, that's easy... but soap made from vegatable oils notably olive oil for its creamy, foamy suds and texture.
