I started listening to soap operas on the radio when I was a child. On television I raised my children to As the World Turns-General Hospital and All My Children. 16 years ago my grand-daughter was born with an under developed espohagus and I took off work for 6 weeks to take care of her. That started my addiction to Young & Restless. I dont really like it anymore, but I never miss it. If you only like Passions-dont be ashamed. It's harmless fun.

Passions is the most fun of the soaps on TV. The head writer James Reilly also did work on my all-time favorite soap back in its hey day--Days of our Lives. Marlena possessed by Satan was one of the best storylines ever. Now Days is not even a shadow of its former self with younger actors taking center stage. To answer the question, Passions is the most fun and Young and the Restless is the old standby that I watch because the characters are mostly the same and they give the old fogies a chance to shine, not just the shirtless stars and starlets.

When I was a kid Edge of Night was my favorite and I watched General Hospital and One Life to LIve, when we moved to Ohio all my friends watched CBS soaps. I got hooked and have been hooked since.
So now I watch Young and the Restless daily (via tape) and Guiding Light a few times a week depending on story line I will tape it too.
I am not ashamed of watching soaps but then I watch reality TV and sports too. I think it makes me a well rounded person. :)

All the ABC soaps are my fave and I've been watchin them since i was like 4 and I'm 24 now...... U know what glad u asked this question it's funny cause while answering this i got a flash of the first soap i use 2 watch and it was Santa Barbra & the Bold & the Beatiful watched it with my great grandmother :) I didn't remember that until now thanks.
............Mom watched the ABC soaps, she stoped workin to be with me more and it was history from then on. It's funny cause she got me started and hasn't watched soaps in years.

Well when I first started watching soaps back in 1985 (I was 8) One Life to Live was the first one I started with. And it was my favorite (until Sunset Beach came out) Then All My Children, Loving, General Hospital (I stopped watching GH in like 1998/1999 too. It became the "Sonny Corinthos Show"). In 1988 I started watching Days of Our Lives, I watched it until like 1998 or 1999. In 1997 I started watching Sunset Beach until it went off. It was my favorite then. I started watching Passions when it came on but stopped about a year or so ago. I just got way to silly for me. But now As The World Turns is my favorite! I started watching it in 2002. It is MUST-SEE-TV!!! I still watch OLTL and AMC but not as addicted to them as I was back in the day. If you don't watch ATWT...START!!!!

I've always watched the NBC soaps. Having said that, I have to say there are two faves. Passions & Days. I used to watch Days with my mom while sitting in the floor making play-doh food. (I was six, by the way). No shame in loving Passions. It's the most fun of my day.

Passions is my way. Been watching it since 2002. Right now it's either Thresa's secret come's out, or Luis is dying of being executed! And I just can't believe Chad is GAY! Then Tabitha's trying to turn Endora into an evil little bad witch. And Jessica's acused of murdering 3 guys. The story is taking a crazy rollercoaster turn!
