this is really bugging me I want one for my website

A favicon (short for 'favorites icon'), is also known as a page icon or an urlicon. It has to be made 16 pixels x 16 pixels.

Has to be saved as favicon.ico

I remember that old versions of IE had trouble displaying them sometimes.

I generated one for my own website through the link below.

The little graphic next to the url in the window of the browser is called a Favicon short for favourite icon. They are 16x16 pixels min. If you would like to do a bigger one then the biggest you can make it is 64x64. If you want to learn more about it type in Favicon in google (http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=favicon&meta=) and click any search you would like i would go for the wikipedia one but it's your chioce. If you would like to make one then i would recomend going to http://www.html-kit.com/favicon/ or you could also go to http://www.favicon.co.uk/

When u clear the Internet explorer cache, the favicons will disappear and will be replaced bt the standard blue "e" IE icon. coz they are stored in IE cache. So the next time the cookies are stored on ur computer, the favicons will appear again.
