Rudy Giuliani was a 9/11 Failure

It's September 10th, 2001. Rudy Giuliani is so unpopular in New York that he couldn't be elected dogcatcher. Having raised middle class taxes/fees, presided over the continued decline of one of the worst public school systems in America, worsened the state of health care in NYC, and doled out corporate welfare to his fat cat buddies, Giuliani was mostly a failure as Mayor. (As have most mayors of both parties been.) Sure crime fell (but it did nationwide and NYC was still safer in the 1960s than it was in 2000 so Giuliani's statistics are misleading) and Manhattan was cleaner (I'll give him that) but this is the same imbecile mayor who tried to close down a museum over a picture he personally disliked and who encouraged the kind of behavior that resulted in tragedies like Amadou Diallo and Abner Louima. Oh and I haven't even mentioned his

I do not support Giuliani as my favorite for the nomination, yet Rudy certainly did not fail New York.
I lived down in New Jersey (just across the river) and remember NYC before Rudy. The city was horrible. Rudy changed that, and changed it big time (along with other factors of circumstance). Rudy deserves credit for that. He accomplished what many thought was impossible.

I thought Rudy was pretty awesome after 9/11, but after much research, he's no different than a mafia boss. Seriously. He's not afraid to go into NUCLEAR war either. This is a man who has been quoted on saying that "Freedom is about authority". How psychotic is that. This guy is so dangerous, people need to stop thinking in the past. The majority of New Yorkers I've talked to HATE the guy.

Guiliani in his infinite arrogance felt he knew more than the people guiding him ( sounds familiar doesn't it.)
When the WTC was attacked in 1993 and we had a panel, which included people from the FB,I FDNY, NYPD, release a series of recommendations to NYC to follow in the mid 1990s on how to improve security, response by first responders etc. At the time of the second bombing and ultimate destruction of the twin towers MOST of the recommendations were NOT implemented, Had these recommendations been implemented, more American lives in NYC would have been saved on 9/11.
Part of those recommendations were to give the firefighters radio equipment to communicate from ground to air. IF the firefighters had the proper radio equipment, they would have heard the orders to get out.
Giuliani should have been directing police, fire and emergency services from the city's high-tech underground emergency management center. Unfortunately, Giuliani had insisted that the secure center be located at the World Trade Center along with a diesel fuel truck which was in direct contradiction to the recommendations given. Who in their right mind would locate a command center in the same place that had been under attack before. No sense of foresight at all.
Giuliani ignored the FBI recommendations to coordinate police with fire and EMT. During the attacks, because the command center was rendered inoperable, NYC had no clear chain of command and no physical command structure in place to coordinate the emergency response. Frankly, the whole reason Giuliani was on television all day and available for interviews was because he was scrambling around the streets trying to set up a command post since the one he had designed and located was paralyzed during the attacks
Giuliani's rush to return New York to business as usual (fearing that Wall Street might relocate) may have seriously impaired the health of returning workers and residents. The New York City government now estimates that 43,000 people have significant 9/11-related health problems
When firefighters were looking for their brethren,Giuliani said no and took some of the debris which contained bodies and/or body parts to fix holes in the streets of New York. He was more concerned about getting the gold and silver bullion for the Corporations than he was about getting the bodies of the real heroes of 9/11, the firefighters and police officers that went into those buildings. The day after they had excavated the gold and silver bullion, Giuliani ordered all searching to stop and then made a conscious decision to institute a “scoop-and-dump” operation to expedite the clean-up of Ground Zero in lieu of the more time-consuming, but respectful, process of carefully removing debris in hope of uncovering more remains

A lot of the 9-11 victims' remains are sitting in a garbage dump and are still turning up in the pavement around the city. People in NY talk about this all the time. The mainstream media is doing an excellent job of keeping this covered up. But every so often a blog turns up this info and the truth leaks out. Giuliani was aware of all of this. That, and he lied to the FDNY and NYPD about their health.

He knew the WTC buildings were going to ''collapse'' and that a second plane was on the way, but he never bothered to warn any of the people in the buildings or the emergency responders rushing in. He has also over seen the use of 9/11 victims remains used as landfill in New York, which is just sick, I can not believe this man is running for president. It's incredible.

He did not fail new York. He cleaned up Times Square and raised revenues by cutting taxes. That is probably why all the democrats in New York do not like him, he proved that cutting taxes raises revenues.

The worst way that he failed New York was to use them and manipulate their story to profit and promote himself. I think the guy is pretty sick.
