For downloaded games, gamehippo.com is honesty completely free. It's not updatded so much but all the games are free. Also, there are more game sites listed at booaghost.com at the very top.
Look for freeware games - sites that say "free trials" or "demos" are not as free as they want you to think.

Games.Atari.com. I love that website. You can play old arcade games and Monopoly and Scrabble and Yahtzee and other stuff with other people online. It's free and you can register and the site keeps track of your wins and losses and rates you based upon your win/loss record.
