The Cubs will win the central. Their bullpen has been pitching better during this stretch so if that keeps up they should start to win more and more. The division is so weak that there is never "no chance" for any team in that division but I do think that they will get it done. The starting pitching, outside of Carlos Zambrano has been pretty solid all year. They are in the top 5 in ERA for the league for the 1st 6 innings and in the bottom 5 in ERA from the 7th inning on which tells me that when the bullpen starts pitching how they should be then they will be very tough to beat. The Cards wont win because everyone gets hurt on that team and the Brewers are showing their true colors by not being able to beat the good teams in the league, they will not last there all year.

Technically, Lou's first game on suspension was 6/3 and lasted through 6/6, he was only suspended for 4 games, so they went 3-1. Looking at the Cubs record, they were 10-14 in April, and 12-15 in May, and so far in June, they are 4-3. Unless their pitching gets their act together, I don't see them winning the central. Maybe 2nd with a chance at the wild card. Perhaps, Milwaukee will cool down a little bit and we can climb back into it, but as of today, 6/8, we are 26-32 and 6 games back, if we even see Wood or Prior, that would be a bonus, but don't count on it.

maybe the cubs shouldnt of givin an old manager out of his prime so much money and instead pursuited someone else
and the cubs cant win the central with all the teams in it. the ymight finish somewhere around last or even 3rd at the best

Of course they can win. They have the best offense in the division and it all comes down to pitching. The Brewers are starting to come back to reality and the Cardinals are struggling. I believe the Cubs are going to have to find one solid starting pitcher somewhere down the road if they are to win the division and do some damage in the playoffs.

Cards, Cubs, and Brewers are candidates to win the Central, and nobody has proven dominant enough yet. And that's puzzling to me too...lose your manager and go on a tear. Perhaps they felt less pressure and eased up a bit? That's my guess.

Trammel should be made permanent manager of the Cubs. He was not good for the Tigers, but he is great for the cubs. FIRE LOU!!!
