you don't mean the type of online degree where you pay the money then print out the certificate do you?

As a former hiring manager, I would say on line degrees rank about fourth in hireability, after first line universities (like the Ivy League schools), second line universities (like most of the State universities), and highly rated (e.g., the U.S. News best colleges list) small colleges or universities.

Among the on line schools, Phoenix U. and Touro U. International are good programs. Of the two Phoenix U. has better recognition throughout the country. TUI is not that well known.

By the way, the degree and source of the degree become less and less important as you advance in your career and gain experience. Most hiriing managers I believe pay more attention to what you did and what results you got than where you got your degree after you've been in the workforce for some time.

I'm afraid most do not. But there are levels of not-taken-seriously. Start off by finding out if the institution is even accredited. There are also quite respectable distance-education universities such of the Open University in Britain or Athabasca in Canada.

Of course many do, thats why they exists. The schools with physical campuses and online degree programs are the most respected and affordable as well as convenient.

Why don't you try ITT technical institute, they're one of those colleges that have physical campuses and online programs, and are very respected. I just signed up to get more information on their degree programs at http://www.ideal-info.com/ITTtechnicalinstitute.php

Good luck
