I totally screwed up my exam result and now I'm kinda down about it. I can't talk to anyone about it right now, its a shameful thing. But I don't want to get so depress about it right now.

What would you do in this situation to help yourself feel better?

@ itwillbeok : I don't know right now. The result just came and I never imagine I'd do this badly. But I don't feel like thinking about it right now anyway.

I would like to address specifically this, first: "I totally screwed up my exam result and now I'm kinda down about it. I can't talk to anyone about it right now, its a shameful thing."

You know, I respect you for taking the test. You did not chicken out (get scared and run away). And you are mature enough to admit you made mistakes. I think you are cool to do as you did. And I feel confident that you will do better much better next time. Isn't that right?

When there is no one person to talk to, I speak with the dogs, the cats, the birds, the lizards, the frogs, the ants and the spiders. Most of all I talk with G-d and the angels.

There are a couple different things you can do to release all the emotions that you are feeling. If you feel you need to talk but do not want to talk to another person then get a mirror and talk to yourself about the way you feel. You could take a drive or go for a walk in a secluded area, or even a bike ride and just talk-just to get all the emotions released. If you like to write, then write how you feel in a journal or notebook and when you decide that you want to talk about it to another person then you can either verbally tell that person what happened or you can let then read your journal. Whatever you decide you do need to release how you feel and not internalize them.

Get busy doing something else. You can't change the past, and why spend precious time dwelling on it.

Go out to see a comedy movie, laughter is the best medicine for "depression" (naturally that is).

I'm sure you have plenty of friends you can call and hang out with, but don't talk about "negative" things.

Good luck and get over it. Life is too short to no smile :) and enjoy yourself!

Take care,

JIL

If I have something going on, I don't want to talk about, I write in a journal.. It's a place I can take myself and get it all out.

ps.. sorry about the exam.

Sit down and start writing. Next thing you know you will be writing about other things and it will take your mind right off the issue.
