It is pretty easy to find out. Just look at the lines for the refrigerant, the larger openings ususly about 1/2 inch are for the R 134 refrigerant, the small one 3/8 of inch are for the R-12. If it is the R-12 you can buy the retrofit kit for cheap, at checker or other auto part store. It is easier for you to swithc it over to R 134 then to pay the high price of having someone put in R 12.

r134a. you can buy a can with a gauge at checker for around 19 bucks.
