I need advice please?
Today the administrator said to my supervisor here are some temporary agency numbers in case you need them while i'm away for 3 weeks on holida/vacation and then she said to my supervisor "you might need them if Christine gets squashed by a bus tonight or decides she is leaving and doesn't work her notice" now why the heck would the administrator say something like that for about me?

the administrator is female & i am very professional at work and i would never leave without giving proper notice so i don't know why the administrator would say such a thing? i am baffled but perhaps it's time to be searching for a new position. i do like my current position even though i was bullied & threatened but that person left today for good but i just find it strange even if it was a joke that someone would say about an employee that they might get squashed by a bus OR leave w/out giving notice!

Sounds like the Admin was just trying to be funny (although it really wasn't funny, maybe only to her) I wouldn't be alarmed...so don't worry and enjoy your vacation! :)

That is just not right, Yes they may need someone to cover while the administrator is away. But to actually say something about you is very immature and stupid. She is very blunt and need to get focused.
If something does happen to you she will regret it for the rest of her life. I would confront her and say look, you must have said it as a joke, but I found it a little disturbing. And I don't find this joke funny. And tell her, Maybe next time you should just think about what you are about to say.
I would have a talk with the supervisor just so that they know what is going on...... Because that is just inappropriate.
Just read your note;
Stick it out if you love your job, and don't leave because of her, you make her leave. ;)

Who knows, but what an inappropriate comment! She just made herself look petty and immature. Do you know her well enough to ask, or do you feel comfortable discussing this issue with your supervisor? If so, tell them you overheard the conversation, and found the comments to be hurtful and unprofessional. If you don't feel like you can discuss this with either of them, consider putting it in writing and forwarding it to the HR department, so they will have a record of this incident. The best thing would be to talk to either of them if possible. The administrator was probably attempting to make a joke, but it was offensive and she should be made aware of that. If not, with her bizarre sense of humor, she could end up offending a client and costing your company major bucks.
Don't just blow it off though; that was a borderline psychotic comment, and you have a right not to be subjected to this behavior at work from anyone. Don't let anyone, regardless of their position, devalue you as a person! You did not deserve this.

Because the administrator is an insensitive jerk who's idea of a joke is calling someone indirectly irresponsible or plain unlucky

Only you can answer why they would think that you would leave without giving notice.
Perhaps you might take this as a cue to bump up your professionalism and personal responsibility level.

Didn't see the second part...so someone left after harassing you? This woman is mad about that, she hated to see the person go. She'd rather see you go.
