Ok first you would have to convert gallons to pints.

6 gallons * 4 quarts/ gallon * 2 pints/ quart = 48 pints

Next set up a proportion.

1/50 = x/48 (where the numerators represent amount of oil and the denominators represent amount of gasoline)

To solve you would cross-multiply numerator on one side of = by denominator on the other to attain this.

50x = 48

Then you would divide by 50 to solve for x

50x/50 = 48/50
x = .96

Therefore you would need .96 pints of oil to attain the ratio.

I concur. 6 gal = 48 pints but the ratio is 50:1, so 48/50 = 0.96.

gasoline : oil
--------50 : 1
---------2 : 1 /25
---------6 : 3 / 25
Oil is 3/25 gallons
= 24 / 25 pints
= 96 / 100 pints
= 0.96 pints

proportion means a ratio. There are 4 machines for 15 secretaries, so it fairly is 4:15 or 4/15. There are x machines for 23 secretaries, so it fairly is x:23 or x/23. you may go-multiply to simplify the respond. If a/b = c/d, then advert=bc. 4/15 = x/23 (4)(23) = 15x ninety two = 15x x = 6.1333 There could be approximately 6 replica machines attainable to the floor with 23 secretaries.

It would need 15.38 ounces, or just barely under one pint. To mix the fuel, it would be one pint to every 6 gallons of fuel.
