I'm so glad you asked this. For the record, I'm thinking it'll be Jeff Garcia. He's way more proven than Simms. Here's why Chris Simms is a joke.
Remember when the Bucs went 10-6 and made the playoffs a few years ago with Chris Simms at the helm? No you don't. Because everyone forgot what really happened that season. Brian Griese, the best QB that no one knows about, led them to a 5-1 record before getting injured. When Chris Simms took over, he led the to a mediocre 5-5 record. Ever since he took over, they've been nothing more than mediocre.
But then...there was Tim Rattay. He took over for Gradkowski and nearly handed the Bears the upset of the season after coming into the game in the 3rd quarter at Soldier Field near the end of the season. If not for some heroics from Rex Grossman, (scary, ain't it?) he would have had the national spotlight. Instead of keeping him, they keep Chris Simms. In my opinion, the Bucs are getting what they deserve if that little worm starts the season for them in Tampa Bay. Jeff Garcia or bust.

Well, Tampa doesnt have a real starting QB on their roster right now. Jeff Garcia is way overrated and one of the luckiest QB's in NFL history, there is a reason why he has been on 4 different teams in the last 5 years. Chris Simms, is one of those guys that gets respect because of his last name. And Gradowski looks like a career backup QB. If Plummer came out of retirement it would certainly be him because the other 3 suck. I dont think it would have been out of the question at all for the Bucs to draft Brady Quinn but they didnt. Anyway to answer your question, my guess is it will be Garcia until he starts mopping the floor and then it will be Simms. At which point the Bucs will start scouting QB's next year.

I'm thinking Jeff Garcia. Chris Simms played terrible last year before he got injured. He threw l td against 7 int. Bruce Gradowski played decent as a rookie, but he is not the answer. Even if Plummer comes out, I don't think he will start. I think Garcia is the only proven player. It will also help if Michael Clayton finally plays like he did when he was a rookie.

Garcia, barring injury. Gradowski is a 3rd string at best and Simms has proven he doesnt have what it takes. If Garcia is healthy he will start 16 games for the Bucs.

Garcia......Simms was losing his job before he got hurt..........If Plummer was to come back I'd like to see him on a much better team that Tampa..........And i'd rather see him stay retired than Coach Classless Shanahan anything out of Jake........

I say Jeff Garcia. I was born and raised in Gilroy California (Garcia's hometown) and can't stand the man at all... so much that I took part in taking down the sign that says "Welcome to Gilroy, Home of Jeff Garcia" :). So yes as much as it pains me to say it... Jeff Garcia will be the starter in Tampa Bay in 2007 hands down.

If Garcia is as good this year as he was last year with Philadelphia then I think he should start.
