I am planning to build a website based on PC support. If one of my page talked about virus & spywares should I change the of that particular page with the the appropriate keywords? In order words each time I talk about a different subject in my different Webpages should I change title/keywords etc..? Or leave it the way it is as my index page?/ Regards.

 2007-06-08 06:17:29 · 6 answers · asked by George 1 in Computers & Internet ➔ Programming & Design

6 answers

IMHO, the web page should always refer to what the individual web page is about. That even includes if it's a main web page (i.e. index.php) that is used throughout your website.

The keywords should change (assuming you're talking about meta-tags), every time as well. Search engines ignore some of the content after it gets too long.

Think to yourself. What kind of "PC Support" is it you're providing, if you can't provide the lowest level of support as to where someone is currently on your website.
And it doesn't mean that you can't have the "PC Support - " text before the real main title, although I would suggest that the web page's purpose should come first from a user's perspective.

 2007-06-08 07:49:31 · answer #1 · answered by Chris C 7 · 0⤊ 0⤋

When a browser opens a web page, it puts the text between the
tags in the title bar (the very top bar that contains the minimise / maximise / close buttons) of the browser window. You should change the title on each page to reflect the content of that page.

Search engines also look at the title, so the more different titles you have on your site the more likely it is to appear in a search.

The title of page is important, but not the must important :)

Also, you can use WordPress - it's a blog website and it's free to download and very easy to use. You don't have to now much about programming. With this software site you can post everything you want. You're posts will have a different link on you're website with different title page

I suggest to use Google webmaster tools for CEO, if you want some traffic :P

Good luck
