My ex's dad's family did that. All D's, just like their dad. My ex's youngest brother was also a D because of an agreement his parents made with his grandpa while they were still dating. His grandpa had wanted to name his last child a certain male D name, but his last child was a girl. The man was a chain smoker, and he agreed that he would quit smoking if his son and his son's girlfriend got married, had three kids, had the third kid be a son, and named that son this particular D name. Lo and behold, they got married and had three sons! So, the last one has a somewhat silly D-name, and grandpa quit smoking cold-turkey on the day he was born.

My mom, dad, and brother are all J's, but I'm an A. I felt a little left out back in first grade when my best friend was also a J. I wanted to change my name to Jodi, but I settled for a confirmation name of Jena.

I know a woman with two daughters, Mary and Molly. They're both small and blond, and people are constantly calling them by the wrong name. They don't enjoy it, and their dad says that if he were to have another daughter, he'd definitely give her a non-M name.

My name's Alexandra and my bro's is Andrew. It wasnt deliberately done, because my dad said to my mum after my bro was born 'you can call him anything you want as long as it doesnt begin with an A'. She went on to say 'I like Andrew' LOL
I also know a family (the Inverdales) where the dad is John, the mum is Jackie, and the girls are Josie and Juliette. When they sign cards like birthday cards or personal messages, instead of saying 'From Juliette' she would write 'From J4' because she is the fourth person in the family with a name beginning with J.
Other people like this:

And I also know people with names that go A B C:

My kids do..... Coleman, Charlotte and Cadence.

The first two weren't really intentional. We picked Coleman just randomly because we thought it was a cool Irish name, then Charlotte was named after my husband's aunt who died at a young age and it just happened to be the same letter.

Then for our third, we figured she'd feel left out if she didn't get a "c" name, too. So we searched for another one that we liked.... the name Cadence came to us after being discouraged with all the "C" names in the baby books and started looking thorugh the dictionary.

If you're only planning to have two or three children that might not be too "unique", but we know two large families that have done that and no one can remember their children's names, or which one's which. One family we know has John, Marnee, Josh, Marijo, Marita, Joseph, Margaret, James, and Marybeth. The other family we know has Kailey, Kyra, Kyrstin, Karly, Kameron, Kristian, Karson, and Kamie. I've heard there's a different family nearby that had thirteen children that all started with K, but I the friend who told me that could only rattle off about six of them, in no particular order. If they ever become friends with the other K-family, what a zoo. In my sister-in-law's family, before she and my brother had children there were five grandchildren, all of whose names started with A. When asked if they had picked out names for their firstborn they answered "Not yet, but we have ripped the A section out of our baby name book already." Good luck to you.

I only have one child right now, but I will NOT be doing same letter names for future children. My husband and his sister both have names that start with "S"...Steven and Stephanie.

I don't have any kids, but when I do, I think I would rather throw myself under a bus than do that cutesy "all the same letter" crap. OK, maybe that's a tad dramatic, but every time I see a family that's done that, I want to barf a little. Over here in Denver, we have the famous Elway family- John Elway (Broncos Hall of Fame QB), his (ex)wife Janet, and their 4 kids who all have J names, but I can't remember what they are. Gag me!!!!

No...I have to go through the roll call of names before I get to right kid. They get so mad! I don't know what would happen if they all started with the same letter.

My husband and his sisters all have names that start with S... Shelly, the twins Sandy and Sharon and his name is Sean. Their mom is Shirley too...

Our son's name is Nicholas and we are having a daughter soon. None of the names on our list start with an N for her.

Myself, my ex husband and our 2 kids all have the same first and last initials...JJ!

I really didnt plan that out but after naming my first son after his father we all 3 had JJ as our initials. When I got pregnant with my second I had other names picked out that didnt start with J but then I was afraid he would feel left out.
