97 Olds 88, replaced upper and lower intake manifold gaskets, checked both for cracks and leaks - both good. Engine runs good but sucks coolant and upper intake fills with water.

since you are an ok lady cop. If you have a v-6 motor and one of those plastic intake manifolds, G M has revised the upper and lower gasket 3 times all for coolant leaks into the crankcase {coolant with oil} if you or your auto tech may not be aware of this band-aid fix so if you are doing this your self or your local shop get the revised gaskets and you should be all set. While working for a GM parts dept. we could not keep up with the demand for these gasket sets

if the gaskets were installed right an did not slip when putting manifold back. than you have a crack in the intake someplace

Maybe it's blown head gasket. Not intake manifold gasket?

i know on some hondas there is small coolant lines that run through the throttle body, to aid in engine warm up in cold weather. maybe coolant is leakin from your throttle body into the manifold...

Did you have the heads inspected at a reputable machine shop?
Sounds like you missed a big one. How many miles on it, is it worth saving such a gas guzzler?

if you didn't pressure check the heads,then the heads are cracked.and while the heads are off,be sure that the block isn't cracked to.

Maybe they were not installed correctly. Try again. It happens.
